About Us

The Pavilion is a stunning residential drug and alcohol treatment centre situated in picturesque private grounds, just outside Lancaster, with easy access from the M6. All rooms at the Pavilion have a private en-suite bathroom with shower. There are dedicated female only areas, and child friendly visiting areas.

The Pavilion team prides itself in delivering care to the highest standard with a focus on supporting patients into recovery.

Our team is made up of doctors, independent prescribers, therapist, nurses, support workers and volunteers.

The Pavilion is accessible to patients aged 18 years and over, delivering
personalised and structured detoxification programmes, personally tailored
to each individual.

Health, wellbeing, and personal empowerment are at the forefront of every
programme, delivered in individual and group settings by trained medical
and therapeutic professionals, with all services reflecting best practice,
meeting CQC standards.

A combination of clinical and therapeutic services are delivered to safely
support patients’ detox, whilst also addressing the contributing factors
which have led to their dependence.

Detox is the first step into abstinence from drugs or alcohol, and can be a
daunting decision for patients.

The Pavilion provides a safe and effective in-patient detox from both drugs
and alcohol through medically assisted withdrawal.

Single and multiple detoxification services are available for the following
• Illicit drugs (opiate and non-opiate based)
• Alcohol
• Psychoactive substances
• Over the counter medication
• Prescription medication

Clinical Programme

Following admission, patients will complete the Clinical Programme.

Carried out by nursing staff and trained support workers, this programme
• A health and wellbeing assessment
• Blood borne virus screening
• Immunisations
• General health care needs
• Preventative first aid measures
Each month, the Pavilion focuses on a different health promotion strategy;
these include a range of topics such as healthy lifestyles, smoking cessation
and naloxone training.

At The Pavilion, our psycho-educational and therapeutic programme offers a range of dependency-related topics that encourage individuals to take ownership and responsibility for their substance misuse, identify the changes they need to make to sustain their recovery. When not in group or 1-1 sessions patients have access to our fully equipped on-site gym to help promote physical and mental wellbeing, as well as stunning communal gardens, TV lounges healthy and nutritional meals provided by our on-site chef.

All of our patients have access to complimentary therapies such as meditation and mindfulness use of aromatherapy, creative and expressive art therapy.

The therapeutic group work sessions cover a diverse range of dependency
related topics including:
• The effects of substance misuse
• Health and wellbeing
• Stress and anxiety management
• Triggers
• Relapse prevention
• Anger management
• Rebuilding relationships
• Confidence and self esteem
• Self-awareness and decision making

All therapy sessions take place in a confidential and safe environment,
where therapists are on hand to provide a non-judgemental space for
patients, and are an integral part of the recovery journey.

The Pavilion accommodates patients with dependency to all substances,
with each patient’s individual situation reviewed at the free initial
assessment process. This determines the duration of stay and ensures
all of the patient’s needs are discussed and understood by the Pavilion
Staff Team.

On arrival at The Pavilion, patients undergo a full medical assessment
from a qualified Prescriber and Nursing Team to ensure a clinically safe
and supported detox. A personal detox programme is created to address
the needs of the patient, and is closely monitored, reviewed, and modified
throughout the duration of their stay.

The Nursing Team are on duty 24 hours a day to support patients and
monitor any changes in physical health during detox.

Same day initial assessments and admissions are available (subject to
bed availability). Patients are encouraged to visit the Pavilion in advance
of admission to ensure that the Pavilion is the right detox unit for them;
these visits can be on any day of the week.

Local Authority Admissions

The Pavilion Inpatient Detox works closely with a number of Local Authorities and is on the preferred provider frameworks in Lancashire, Blackpool and Manchester. Patients from these areas are able to access fully funded detox places via their local community service provider.

Employer Assistance Programme

Up to 17 million working days are lost each year due to alcohol related
sickness; this is an estimated loss of £1.7 billion for employers (Institute
of Alcohol Studies, 2014).

The Pavillion’s Employer Assistance Programme is available to all businesses
across the UK. The Pavilion organises the initial assessment appointments,
along with the detox admissions for employees.
